Investing in our people
Induction
We know first impressions count, and our induction process is designed to make you feel welcome, introduce you to Public Trust, and assist you in performing your role as well as possible.
In addition to job specific training, all new employees attend an orientation day at our Wellington corporate office. The orientation is designed to give an understanding of our culture, values, history and business groups, and it gives an opportunity to meet our Chief Executive, Grenville Gaskell, and other members of the executive team.
Development
At Public Trust we are committed to growing our people. To support this, we have a learning and development presence in every area of our business. These specialists are on hand to offer guidance to your leader to support your development and grow your knowledge and expertise.
We offer a range of internal courses to grow your trustee knowledge, and we support your aspirations through professional qualifications and development opportunities.
One way we assist employees to grow is by providing funding and time off work through the Study Assist programme. Once on board, you will be entitled to apply for this programme, which encourages and reimburses staff for study relating to Public Trust's business. It aims to encourage employees to be proactive about their own learning and professional development.
Celebrating our people
People drive our business and are the key to Public Trust's long term success.
We believe it's worth recognising remarkable everyday acts that grow our organisation. Because of this, we've created a reward and recognition programme that supports local leadership and fosters behaviours in line with our values. Employees are welcomed and encouraged to nominate anyone in the organisation, with winners recognised both quarterly and annually.
